Boost have joined forces with UNICEF Australia to help children in Pacific Island countries suffering from malnutrition. Many children lack essential minerals and vitamins in their diets, which threatens their health and quality of life.
UNICEF provides 95 per cent of the world’s vitamin A supplements for children in developing countries. This simple supplement costs only two cents per capsule and can improve a child’s chance of survival by up to 25 per cent.
For each $1 Power Pack you buy, Boost will fund 5 vitamin A supplements for children in need.

Vitamin A is an essential micronutrient for the immune system. Worldwide, at least 100 million children under five suffer from vitamin A deficiency, which can cause blindness and greatly increases the risk that a child may die from diseases such as measles, diarrhoea and acute respiratory infections.
UNICEF estimates that as many as 300,000 child deaths are prevented each year from administering vitamin A supplements.
The Pacific
Malnutrition is a persistent problem for young children in Pacific Island countries.
Currently, the leading causes of death in children under five years of age include acute-respiratory infections, diarrhoea, malaria, injuries and pre-natal complications.
With the funds raised by Boost, UNICEF will work to reduce malnutrition among children and women of child-bearing age in the Pacific, focusing particularly on The Solomon Islands, Kiribati and Vanuatu to target the most vulnerable and marginalised part of the Pacific.
The Pacific Island countries spread across 12 million square miles of ocean and the population live on many small islands which are vulnerable to natural disasters like typhoons and volcanic eruptions.
This region therefore has some unique challenges when it comes to reaching its children. UNICEF is working across all the islands to bring medical services, vaccines, clean water and education to the children of the Pacific Islands.
